Chip the Robot - Knitting Pattern

Chip is the cutest robot ever and every little boy's dream. His body is gusseted to give him dimension while keeping his rectangular shape. On the front, his body features a ridged panel and a pocket and on the back he has a battery inspection panel!
He has slightly wonky eyes and smile. The buttons are only embellishments so keep on the lookout for interesting shapes you can add to your Chip the Robot. He stands 50cm (20") tell.

General Requirements:

3.0mm knitting needles
Darning needle for sewing up
Sewing needle for seing on buttons
4 safety pins

Materials for Body:

Body: 4 x 50g 8ply for body
Yarn for stripes: 3 colours 8ply
Each arm stripe used approx 2m of yarn and each leg stripe used approx. 2.7m of yarn.
Small mount of white 8ply yarn for eye patches
Small amount of red 8ply yarn for batteries
Black yarn for face and batteru embroidery
8 x large buttons (approx. 3.5cm in diameter)
2 x black buttons for eyes
Assorted buttons for embellishment - all shapes, sizes and colours
