Günter and Gretchen are such fun to knit - and so cute. Design a dog coat to delight any dog owner or decor.
General Requirements:
3.0mm knitting needles
Darning needle for sewing up
Doll needle for eyes
Materials:
Body: 2 x 50g 8ply yarn
Coat:
Single Colour: 1 x 50g 8 ply yarn
Stripes: 20g of main colour 10g contrast colour. Gretchen used 20g of the pink and 10g of the white
Variegated: 50g 8 ply
Scraps to make stripes: approx. 30g
Dacron Stuffing
Face: 2 x 10mm black shank buttons for eyes, 3m black 8 ply yarn for the nose, 1m of fine braided cord, button thread or linen thread for attaching eyes
Optional Accessories:
Collar: 0.25m grosgrain ribbon
Ribbon bow: 0.6m ribbon of your choice
Knitted Bow: small amount of yarn (1pprox. 3m) - colour of your choice
Bandana: 25cm square of fabric cut across the diagonal
Buttons, buckles and engraved dog tags as desired
